NotesShot down Jul 12, 1944 on mission to Munich. MACR 6936. Aircraft and crashlanded in Ensisheim 15-20 km North of Mulhouse, France. Aircraft was repaired by the Germans and given German markings. Destroyed on ground by a P-38.

Notesirst trace: 27 Mar 44. Assignment 2BD Ops Order 2 Apr 44 conf VOCG 25 Mar 44. Originally named STOLEN MOMENTS. Believed to have been re-named EVLIBSBUNNY by the Bill Banias crew when it returned to 453rd BG after repairs following the 29 Apr 44 crash-landing. Transferred from 733rd to 735th BS between 21 Jun & 7 Jul 44. Repaired at Beccles 30 Apr - 1 Jun 44 - #1 & #3 engines, wing panel, main wheels, electrical system - damage on 29 Apr 44 mission to Berlin. Lost 12 Jul 44 - hit by flak, went on fire and was last seen heading for Switzerland - crash landed at Ensisheim, 15 - 20 km north of Mulhouse, France, was repaired by the Germans, given German markings and was being prepared for take off when it was shot up by a P-38 Lightning and destroyed, the position having been communicated to the Allied forces by the French resistance organisation.
