Target: LEIPZIG GERMANY Airfield (79 aircraft) - (51.4205, 12.2378)

Built in 1912, the Leipzig/Mockau airfield featured large facilities: a 160m airship hangar which accommodated up to three airships, an airplane hangar and Germany?s first airport hotel. During World War I the airport was used solely for military purposes
pilots were trained and military aircraft built there. The airfield reopened in 1923 after World War I. In 1938, the Wehrmacht took over the airport. At the end of World War II, large parts of the production facilities and the airport were destroyed in Allied air raids and the remaining facilities were dismantled. In 1949 flying was re-established at Mockau.
