Junkers Flugzeugwerke was established in 1935 at Wilslebener Strasse 9, former site of the Aschersleben Maschinenbau AG (AMA). Fuselages for Junkers aircraft were built here by about 6000 works. Captured by American forces in April, 1945, it was later handed over to the Soviets. Most of the machinery was dismantled and transferred to Kiev in Russia by the Soviets in 1946. Today the area is used by Schiess AG.
